2022 apartment-block renovation awards
In the vote held from April 7–27, the apartment building at Pilies St. 3, Klaipėda, received the most votes. High costs and the restoration of the castle site opposite the building prompted residents to renovate. After the façade was insulated and the heating and other systems upgraded, the building achieved energy performance class B. Annual energy consumption fell by 74,71%.
The apartment building at Dariaus ir Girėno St. 40, Plungė, came second. High heating costs and a deteriorating roof prompted the renovation. The building’s energy performance class improved from F to B, heat energy consumption fell by 65,80%, and carbon dioxide emissions fell by almost a factor of 3,5.
The apartment building at 34 Taikos Ave., Klaipėda, was awarded third place. After all planned energy-saving measures were implemented, the building’s energy performance class improved from E to B. This renovation also encouraged residents of the neighbouring apartment building to support renovation, after they had previously been unable to reach an agreement.
