Building renovation (modernisation)

We prepare designs for residential, industrial and public buildings, as well as apartment-block renovation (modernisation) designs. Building renovation aims to reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. An earlier company description presented this work in the context of European Union requirements and the “Jessica” programme.

Design preparation timeline

We usually prepare apartment-block renovation projects under public procurement contracts, so timelines depend on the specific tender conditions. A previous brief set a 1–2 month timeframe for preparing the project, depending on the building size and the number of project sections.

The completed design is submitted for expert review, and the required documents are filed through the Infostatyba system. When planning the work, we agree on its scope, deadlines and quality requirements. We keep up with developments in construction and help our specialists build their skills.

Apartment-block renovation includes design, document preparation and coordination. We prepare the design in line with the applicable requirements:

• Under the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Construction;

• construction technical regulations (STR);

• the procedure for preparing an apartment building renovation (modernisation) project;

• special architectural requirements;

• other legislation setting out the safety and intended-use requirements for the structure;

• legal acts setting out the essential requirements for buildings, technical parameters, and the levels and classes of construction product characteristics;

• hygiene standards;

• spatial planning documents.

Where we work

We prepare most building renovation projects in Western Lithuania. We also work in other cities across the country, including Vilnius, Kaunas and Panevėžys.

Goals of building renovation

In the earlier description, apartment-block renovation was linked to the “Europe 2020” strategy and its goals: using energy more efficiently and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. When designing a renovation, we assess the building’s energy performance and the environmental requirements that apply to the specific project. By the time the original description was published, the company had already built up more than a decade of experience in this area.
